Notley Abbey is licensed for civil marriage and partnership ceremonies both inside and out and can host up to 190 guests for ceremonies and receptions. During the summer, Notley’s grounds are utterly magical and there is no more romantic backdrop for your ceremony and reception. When the days are shorter the Abbey itself can host the ultimate house-party or the Monks’ Refectory can be home to a wonderful barn-style celebration. Importantly, Notley doesn’t depend on good weather and is as wonderful in the rain as it is under blue skies.
Our wedding planning team will guide and support you throughout the planning process. We know how stressful it can be. Our proprietary online Wedding Planner allows you to keep all of your plans and information in a secure place and allows both you and us to have ready access to the most up-to-date version of your dream. No need to worry about table plans or unexpected costs either – everything is in there and 100% transparent. Headed up by veteran Bijou wedding planner Carol Johnson, our Wedding Planning team have the safest hands in the industry.
Notley Abbey has a luxurious bridal suite and 8 further bedroom suites for your nearest and dearest to enjoy on the night of your wedding. The benefit of a wedding venue with accommodation is that of having your closest family and friends stay overnight, cementing the feeling that it is your home for your special day. Relax and enjoy every element of home – from getting dressed in your room beforehand to a nightcap before bed and breakfast the following morning.
